Connemara

1988 - Deserted single-storey dwelling, Connemara. Today, many of these have now been replaced with new-builds which tend not to live comfortably within the landscape, but then it's easy to become nostalgic about the charm of these little homesteads.  Life was difficult and challenging for those who lived and worked on the land.  Their picturesque nature belies the realities of those who lived in cold, dark and damp conditions toiling away to feed their families and livestock.
