County Clare

1987 -  On my first visit to Southern Ireland in 1985, I experienced certain aspects of this land to be both endearing and quirky.  I noticed cars, tractors and gates often held together with rope, wire or baler twine.  I did doubt the vehicles' road worthiness, but there you go!  This was a wonderful example of a handmade field gate somewhere in County Clare.
