County Kerry

2003 - Eddie Hutchinson is a champion oarsman and prolific builder of the traditional craft - the naomhóg .  According to the online Press Reader of January 2020, Eddie was to be presented at the Kerry Sports Star Awards with the Unsung Hero Award.  His name is synonymous with naomhóg racing in West Kerry.  

Eddie has been a mentor and trainer to hundreds of oarsmen.  He has his own book which shows measurements and details of woods needed to make a naomhóg.  He has also supplied full size and scale models to museums across Europe including the Vatican Museum and the Polish Maritime museum.
