Portrait and interview - 1993
Meg has been painting for most of her life, and has had the opportunity of working in many countries including the USA and the UK. She is interested in the manipulation of the paint surface, using oils, acrylics and water-based paints. She is also drawn to experimenting with the paint surface using rice papers, tissue paper, collage or by weaving them together. This stems from her experience in embroidery and textiles.
Enjoying painting from nature, she likes to work in series, and this enables her to realise a variety of forms and textures, and thereby use more experimental techniques resulting in semi-abstract painting.
The waist coat she is wearing in her portrait is an example of her work.
Update: Meg moved to a residential care home in Exeter where she later died.
